I guess it was bound to happen to me. Just like everyone else on the planet, I have the song Let It Go stuck inside my brain, with no relief in sight. Think, think, think! What could I do to get rid of it? Then it hit me. Jonathan Coulton. The perfect mix of timeless stories and catchy tunes, to replace this Disney stuff before I go completely mad. I figured I should share, so here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!
First, I know it’s a little late for Christmas, but it is one of my favorites…
Second, not just a catchy tune, but a cautionary tale
And finally, my favorite ode to consumerism…
BONUS: Just one more, for anyone suffering withdrawals from the Olympics…
I still don’t get curling and why it’s even an Olympic sport.
Me either, but when I have to make up an interesting past for myself (it happens), I tell people I won a gold medal for curling in the 1984 Olympics. I don’t even know if there was a 1984 Olympics, but it sure sounds impressive!
Thank you for introducing me to Jonathan Coulton. I believe Chiron Beta Prime is now my favorite Christmas carol of all time!
It’s great stuff! He has so much more too-check out the songs Skymall, Millionaire Girlfriend, Skullcrusher Mountain (the voices inside my head tell me I shouldn’t kill you…)
omg…hysterical!! Perfect catch-a-post-while-you’re-eating-lunch material!
I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use the line “Did I say overlords? I meant protectors” and I feel certain there will come a time when it will be exactly the right thing to say. Sad, isn’t it-this is the stuff I live for…
Ok, you got me laughing so hard, I’m snorting – not a pretty visual, but a testament to how funny this post is..
Glad you liked these! Jonathan Coulton is a riot-lots more where this came from…
I’ve already you-tubed him (that sounds awful!)
