WTF WordPress?

I am just certain that many of you, thousands and thousands, have been trying desperately to subscribe to my blog. I get it, you wouldn’t want to miss a single word that slides off my golden keyboard. Or…maybe my mom is making you subscribe. Whatever.

WordPress is a pretty awesome free platform on which many, many bloggers rely. It is 98% good, but when it is bad, it is very, very bad. Sometimes it doesn’t let me follow other blogs or like other blogger’s posts or leave comments, and that makes me feel bad. Sometimes it doesn’t allow others to follow, like and comment on my blog. That makes me feel really bad (never forgetting for a moment that I am the center of the universe).

After some digging around today, turns out that a big part of the problem, possibly the whole problem, is Google Chrome. Everything works fine with Explorer. But Chrome is a mess. However when I use Explorer, WordPress isn’t recognizing my administrator password or letting me recover it. So, as a blogee I have to use Explorer, but as a blogger, I have to use Chrome. This confuses my already addled brain.

So to the Grand Pooh-Bah of WordPress, wherever in cyberspace you might be, please please make it so my blog works with Chrome.

Love always,

Me, your favorite blogger

Electronic poltergeists – that must be the problem. I won’t admit that things are working okay on my end for fear they’ll attack me next. Good luck exorcising those digital demons.

What a pain! When I’m visiting your blog I have no problem leaving comments. But if I’m in my own blog and try to respond to a comment you’ve left for me, my response fails. Every time.
Hope the WP gods start behaving, Jill.

Woa, meta blogging on blog tech. Marshall McLuhan proved right again. I think Go Daddy fixed some of their shyte that was breaking WP just yesterday, at least they did on Jill’s shared host.

I do not understand about 60% of the shit you say. That’s more than half the time I have no idea WTF you’re talking about. My guess is you like it that way.

  4. Look… my comment is flying through. No quality to filter here. 🙂

  5. Hmmm…I use IE. The only issue I get is that sometimes I can’t comment. A comment will get a failure notice. Of course I think it’s because the amazing quality of my comment was just too much for WP. Glad you figured out what it is. Hope it’s fixable.

    • Jill Foer Hirsch says:

Your comments are definitely getting caught in the Quality Filter. Comments that are so awesome they make everyone else look bad are automatically filtered out. I guess I’ve figured out part of the problem. Too many moving parts because my actual site is hosted on GoDaddy, for which I pay, but they always blame WP. Sigh.

      • Aha! GoDaddy may be it! I am all WP and don’t have those problems (I do have others though). Note: Had to try twice before this was posted.

Hmmm. I’m just wondering if switching it over is way beyond my technological acumen. I don’t know why I’m wondering, because clearly it is. Hmmm.

I Love To Hear From You!
